For
the
fudge
sauce:

chocolate

cream

brown

For
the
banana
splits:
4
ripe
bananas
12
scoops
of
ice
cream
1/2
cup
heavy
cream,
lightly
whipped

glace
cherries
1/2
cup
chopped
mixed
nuts,
toasted

fan-shaped
wafers
Begin
by
making
the
fudge
sauce:
break
the
chocolate
into
a
pan
and
add
the
butter,
cream,
sugar,
and
syrup.
Heat
gently,
stirring,
until
the
ingredients
are
melted
and
well
blended;
remove
from
the
heat,
but
do
not
allow
to
cool
completely.
Cut
each
banana
in
half
lengthwise
and
place
in
the
banana-split
dishes,
pushing
the
halves
apart.
Place
2
scoops
of
ice
cream
between
2
pieces
of
banana.
Spoon
over
the
cream,
then
scatter
the
cherries
on
top.
Drizzle
on
the
warm
sauce,
scatter
with
the
nuts,
then
push
in
the
wafers
and
serve
immediately.
